Immersive Technologies and Artificial Intelligence in Museum Development: Second Presentation at the Congress “Citadel 1.0”
On the second day of the Congress, a dedicated presentation was delivered by Dmitry Trusov, co-founder of Endi LLC, focusing on the digital transformation of the museum environment and the application of immersive technologies.
During the presentation, modern approaches to creating digital models of historical objects and their integration into museum and tourism processes were discussed.
Modern technologies make it possible to create comprehensive digital models of historical assets — from individual artifacts to large-scale architectural complexes. Such models form the foundation of digital cultural heritage archives and open new opportunities for their practical use.
Special attention was given to the role of artificial intelligence, which can be applied:
— for the restoration of digital models
— for the analysis of historical data
— for developing hypotheses about the structure of historical objects
— for generating new scenarios for presenting historical content
The presentation also highlighted practical experience in the use of augmented reality in challenging climatic conditions of northern territories and demonstrated examples of integrating digital models into guided tour activities.
Particular emphasis was placed on the fact that modern digital solutions are becoming an important driver for the development of creative industries, tourism, and museum infrastructure, shaping new formats of interaction between people and history and culture.
As a practical tool that enables not only the digital museification of historical sites but also the organization of large-scale guided experiences using virtual reality headsets, the Tourverse platform was presented during the session. The demonstration generated strong interest from the professional community attending the event.
“We received a great deal of positive feedback, expressions of interest in future collaboration, and had the opportunity to meet dozens of outstanding professionals in the field. This inspires us to pursue new achievements in the development of national archaeology and tourism,” noted Dmitry Trusov.
