Live participation and discussion of the possibilities for reconstructing the Obdorsk prison

A press conference was held at the Severpress press center with Oleg Kardash, head of the Institute of Archaeology of the North, a leading researcher at Surgut State University, and Dmitry Trusov, co-founder of the Andy group of companies.

• • The focus of the discussion is the creation of a 3D model of the Obdorsk Ostrog, a historically significant 17th-century site that was an important trade and military center in Siberia. The archaeological discovery of a fragment of the wall beneath the modern museum complex has confirmed its true location and has sparked a digital reconstruction.

• • The participants of the discussion shared their experience of “reviving” history using modern technologies. The project is not just a scientific study, but an opportunity to transform cultural heritage into a new tourism product.

• VR and AR scenarios open up interactive excursions, educational programs, and modern formats of involvement for Salekhard. The choice of the company «Andy» is due to its experience in the intersection of IT and cultural heritage and the ability to create fully integrated projects right on the real location.

«Our goal is not just to show a picture of the past, but to learn how to work with a real location. We want people to put on their glasses and see the history here, so that it becomes an experience that they want to live through and remember,» comments Dmitry Trusov, Executive Director of Andy.

• The discussion also focused on the benefits of augmented reality for the restoration of historical events. These technologies not only help preserve cultural heritage, but also make it accessible and understandable to a wide audience, from schoolchildren to tourists. The project has already been supported by the Presidential Grants Foundation and is currently under active development, offering Salekhard the opportunity to become an example of a modern approach to cultural tourism.
