Tourverse in Surgut: The Future of Tourism is Determined Today
On May 21, a business meeting «Tourverse: a new format of excursions using augmented reality technology» was held in Surgut. The event brought together representatives of the tourism industry, museums, educational organizations, and government agencies interested in developing innovative tourism formats.
The meeting was supported by the Unity Park Research and Technology Center, where Enditech is a resident, and was part of a series of regional events organized by the Tourverse project to introduce AR technologies into the field of excursion services. The key topic was the presentation of the Tourverse platform and augmented reality tour scenarios, including the reconstruction of the Trinity Cathedral, a lost architectural monument in Surgut.

The possibility of integrating AR tours into the city’s existing tourist routes.
Development of new inclusive scenarios and increased audience engagement.
The potential of technology as a source of additional profit for the tourism sector.
Representatives of travel companies, tour guides, employees of the Surgut Museum of Local Lore, representatives of the Surgut State Pedagogical University and SSU, as well as researchers of the Archaeology of the North, gathered at the SCHOOL 21 site, to which we would like to express our special gratitude. The event was also supported by representatives of the city administration who oversee entrepreneurship and tourism.
- What was shown:
The participants were shown an interactive AR tour of the Trinity Cathedral. The solution received a positive response, with several business representatives expressing interest in integrating the product into their own offerings.
- What's next:
Tourverse will continue to develop the project in Surgut. A pool of partners is already formed, ready to test AR-excursions, and the project team is open to new proposals and collaborations.
